The girl, loss of sweet dreams
Sits up in a bed, or so it seems
To turn and to whisper,
To turn and prepare
To turn to the girl,
The girl with the softest black hair
In a room full of voices
Some faint, some just noises
Comes a voice of an angel
Who dared to here tread
Though the secret was known
Though not a word was once said
I remember it quite clearly
Not a step was so wearily
Silk was the dress
And dressed like a fire
I’m looking back now
Not knowing how tired
Without a word, just a walk
Without a word, she would talk
Speaking like a saint
And looking just the same
I wonder sometimes
Why the thunder, why the rain?
A vision down a dark alley
Became a vision of a valley
Looking around I can’t see
Why something that frightens
Became something warm
Her arms touch, and gently tightens
Thinking again about a dress
The thin silk to caress
A body that fools
And like an echo to fade
Like rain the sun melts
Like sand of gold, was made
Locked away in a room
Swept away, a dark gloom
Stole a king’s ransom
And bartered it away
And bought something different
Paid a price, the cost of today
If you thought of a sight
And gathered all might
And put it on paper
And painted it with perfection
And added in softness
I swear I can see her reflection
Something that won’t leave
A thought it will weave
Is it a thought
Or is it a feeling
The scent of her neck
It leaves you reeling
Because of that gift
Because it came swift
I hold and grip tight
And feeling my arms weakening
But I can’t let go
Never caught speaking
Of something that came late
Something that can’t wait
She hid behind a door
And called out to a vision
She listened for an answer
It was not her decision
A river will run then fall
Light fades, becomes dull
Yet nothing ever touched her
Nothing ever came
Nothing ever told her
Everything is the same
For like summer’s heat
Like two bodies that meet
While the sun beats down
Upon a girl that knows not
Holding tight for the wind
She’ll never be caught
For I mentioned the alley
Remember that valley?
What litters it becomes
What it was long ago
Even stepping on signs
I still can’t possibly know
A man, no a king
A beauty did sing
Looked down from the top
No whisper of a word
No ordinary vision
Or haven’t you heard?
For soft, yet sharp eyes
Can mask and disguise
What I didn’t see
And certainly not felt
For the warmth of her breath
Your anxiety it melt
Her skin it craves tan
From a distance we stand
For you wonder if ever
Time could you share
A girl with the beauty
Like stars we will stare
Lost and alone, following a path
Cannot see anything, chosen a mask
The feet must step closely
Otherwise, you fall
Neve fearing the journey
Her voice, she will call
Why do I hear the thought
Why the desire it brought
About a girl who stood
With the warmth of the day
Wrapped her body so gently
Near perfect, I’d say
Something is telling me
“Come you must see”
And when I did follow
Instructions I kept
Not sure exactly why
Why not here, then too I wept
But its not like you think
In land she’ll not sink
For the wave that rips rocks
And turns them to sand
Are the same rocks she climbs
In triumph she’ll stand
It’s hard not to swallow
A taste that’s so hollow
A girl that draws you in
In like you belong
She has that rare means
It’s right, it’s not wrong
To sum up in line
Would take all my time
From her voice, to her breathe,
To her skin, to her touch
You imagine the feeling
She’ll tell you that much
I think of the warm sun
I think as I run
Back to that field
Where nothing is lost
Where nothing is asked for
No money, no cost
But it cost something good
It finally became understood
I really wasn’t standing
I really wasn’t there
But now I smile to myself
Not mentioned again, her soft and warm hair
