Questions what was seen, doubting where does this go?
Light gets covered, enveloped, she steps in mirrored glow
Shattered pieces, a dream, a glance, blind and cannot see
What art and this destination can do, yet only for Mercury
Played out of tune, sung with bewilderment, with a virtual sun
A boy short of a man talks, says nothing, and nothing will be done
The Voice in the Wilderness, children’s call, in plain view to be
A drop in a bucket, holy ground turned over, stillness for Mercury
She dries her tears, dries her eyes, changing for changing sake
Once hung up for her aloofness’, now just hung up on a stake
Using her hair to hide herself, she’ll lapse again, agreed a certainty
Surreally hidden, she fluidly enters and paints, just not for Mercury
Ascending, no rope, nothing to grip, ice cuts deep an’ favored to win
Maps are bodies weeping in silence, now existence seems like sin
To get down with nothing, just your soul, you barter the entity
The summation is frozen in time, that’s living within this Mercury
Darkened happens when expecting an unexpected crime
That happens if you live for the day and die within a time
Driven away and cast aside, a sullen noise not two but three
I jerk my head with silence, executed with noise from Mercury
She is a ship, an island, a vision, a flare in a world of nothing
Seen as canvas and artist, charcoal, distinctively bluffing
All distance covered by twice the steps, hardly sent unwarily
It rests assured, no shallow breath, this thing called Mercury
What follows happens all but once, repeated the jailhouse snitch
Repeated over and over to the judge, lies whispered without a glitch
I looked away and hid my face, this is the one time we agree
Glancing back twice, twice it happened, though just one Mercury
Blackness to darken the deepest shadows, avoided and put away
Just like the thing that haunts her smile, what it is I cannot say
She turns to face her fears within, her gaze touches even me
It come as often or as rare as now, this darkness called Mercury
What happens next, who’s to say, I turn while clenching my fist
Tearing my garment while in pain, could it be coldness, heavy mist?
My voice has left me, ran away at a time I started to believe
In silence she wonders, a darkened girl, favored that Mercury
Sights give way as thing disappear, plainly thought of at this point
What’s left to see is kept away, locked deep within my joint
And now it’s over, those voices echo, in daylight they frighten me
I questioned if this all happened, within the depths of Mercury
